SNECI is proud to share the success of its recent project in Colombia, conducted in collaboration with RENAULT Colombia and Colombia Productiva (Colombian government agency for promoting the industrialization of the country's businesses). This initiative aimed to enhance the capabilities of 25 auto parts suppliers through training and consulting in the Renault Group Product Quality Procedure (RGPQP).

The project not only reflected SNECI’s expertise in supplier development and industrial performance improvement but also showcased the pivotal role of Sergio Gómez (CEO of QTS Consulting), SNECI’s representative in Colombia. His leadership and deep industry knowledge were instrumental in the project’s successful execution, delivering tangible results that strengthened the Colombian automotive value chain.

The RGPQP Project: Implementing Global Standards

The primary goal of the project was to prepare Renault-Sofasa’s supplier network in Colombia to meet international quality and production standards, specifically for the development of the Renault Kwid vehicle.

RGPQP, Renault’s comprehensive five-stage methodology, ensures that suppliers deliver high-quality components while enhancing their internal processes to achieve global competitiveness. The training and consulting program designed by SNECI, Sergio Gómez and Renault, provided suppliers with practical tools and strategies for effective implementation, addressing critical knowledge gaps and ensuring the success of their component development efforts.

Sergio Gómez: Leading Implementation on the Ground

While SNECI led the project at a strategic level, the execution relied heavily on the expertise of Sergio Gómez, an experienced professional with over 20 years of industry experience and a certified RGPQP instructor. His contributions included:

1.       Tailored Training Programs: Gómez conducted customized training sessions for 25 supplier representatives, blending theoretical foundations with practical applications to ensure immediate applicability.

2.       In-Depth Diagnostics and Solutions: He performed on-site visits (more than 330 hours) to identify specific improvement areas for each supplier and designed action plans to address these gaps. With those visits the project impacted almost 80 people, distributed in 5 cities.

3.       Comprehensive Support: Gómez provided hands-on guidance during the implementation phase, ensuring suppliers adopted sustainable practices aligned with RGPQP requirements.

Through his efforts, suppliers were empowered to close knowledge gaps and achieve excellence in their processes, ultimately meeting the stringent standards set by Renault.

Delivering Results Across the Supply Chain

The project’s outcomes underline its success and impact:

  • Certified Competency: All 25 supplier representatives completed their training and received certifications in RGPQP methodology.

  • Enhanced Processes: Identified gaps were effectively addressed, resulting in successful implementation across all participating suppliers.

  • Increased Satisfaction: Feedback from suppliers highlighted the practical approach and personalized support as key factors in the project’s success.

These results translated into high-quality components delivered to Renault Colombia, reinforcing trust in the local supply chain and positioning it as a reliable partner for future projects.
